Privacy and cookies policy

1. Cookies

lingdemy uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for the service to work. We do not use analytics or marketing cookies and do not track you across websites.

2. Browser storage

• Service worker (PWA) stores app files and recently viewed flashcards in the browser so they work offline.
• sessionStorage keeps small interface details (e.g. card animation direction) until the tab is closed.

3. Third-party services

Fonts and scripts are served from our own server — your browser does not connect to external providers (e.g. Google Fonts). Pronunciation playback uses speech synthesis built into your browser or operating system; some browsers may process the spoken text with their provider.

Sign in with Google: if you click “Continue with Google”, your browser goes to Google’s sign-in page, where Google’s cookies and Google’s privacy policy apply. Unless you click that button, your browser does not connect to Google.

4. Server logs and statistics

The server records technical request information (e.g. IP address, date, page address, browser) for security and troubleshooting. Application logs are kept for 14 days, hosting logs according to the hosting provider’s rules.

Statistics: we anonymously count how many times a day a flashcard was viewed, a translation revealed or a quiz answered (day, flashcard, language, with or without an account) — without IP addresses, cookies or any link to a specific person.

5. Managing cookies

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies prevents logging in and saving settings.
